ArtRage for iPhone App Reviews

Overall great!

The zoom could definitely use some work as it always glitches. Maybe add a dodge/burn tool like in photoshop to make shading easier? Another idea would be to make a tool so that you could change the size of the photos you add on different layers. I use this app to create horse linearts and so far it has been just perfect.

Trusty ArtRage

ArtRage is an incredible app, and the tools are very well done, but I only have one problem. Recently, I will be drawing, and I turn off my iPhone. When I turn it back on, it appears that ArtRage has crashed, so I opened it again to finish my drawing when suddenly it looks like my entire drawing, and all of its layers are deleted. I have not deleted it, and this makes me mad... There are a lot of other bugs and glitches. Please fix it. Thanks for reading this.

Needs more Tools

Awesome job with this. You just need more tools. In particular the air brush gun. I have the IPad version and I wish the two talked to one another. So I could see my iPhone pictures and my iPad pictures in one place. And use the same tools that the iPad has.

EXTREMELY disappointing.

so I just downloaded the app and its good but Im disappointed with it. I was so excited to get the app and now that I had it Im quite upset. It keeps undoing everything I draw at random times & the zoom is very buggy and if I try to zoom in, it just zooms out completely. Im hoping that these issues are fixed in later updates because if not, Ill probably just delete the app because its very difficult to draw well when it keeps zooming out and deleting my lines.

This App Was Abandoned Long Ago

It has been over a year since the developer had an update for the iPhone version of this app. In fact, it can no longer be found for sale in the App Store. Which is fine by me, because after using this app for a little while, I see that the resolution is so low that it creates nothing but low-quality images. With even a slight amount of zoom, the pixels become apparent very quickly. There is also no Settings menu in which to increase the resolution, so you are stuck with the default low-resolution setting. This app feels to me to be more a toy than a serious tool for artists.

Needs some work

Very glitchy, needs some or a lot of work.

Needs iPhone 6+ support

This would be a great app, except every time I use it, random white lines appear in my brush strokes. Maybe due to unsupported 1080p screen resolution? Everything looks pretty blurry, which would be fine except this is for making art.

Great app

Ive used this app on my iPad for a few years and I loved it. I was weary about buying the iPhone version at first, but it works great. Love it.

any updates coming?

has this app simply been abandoned? i love the ipad and desktop version, but the phone version is a little lacking. especially now that ios 8 is out and weve got these big, beautiful 6s to work on.

Disappointed

iPhone 6+; I would have thought that with a bigger iPhone artrage would have taken advantage of all the screen real estate. For some reason white lines show up in the paint strokes but disappear when you zoom out then back in. There is also a lot of lag which is weird because the iPhone 6+ has the most current processor chip.

Honestly not worth paying for

There are many art apps out there that do MUCH more for free.

Love this app

This is the best art app available. I purchased approximately eight other art-related apps before finding this one - now it is the only one I use. I love it!

Update is bresh of fresh air for the best painting app around!

There are many apps for painting and sketching in the app store. If youre an illustrator or just want to doodle, sketch or play with color there are a bunch of good apps that will satisfy. If youre a painter however there is no better app than ArtRage. ArtRage for desktop,iPad and iPhone are all different in feel and as you decrease in device size so do the features available, but AR for iPhone is still a lovely little pocket tool for exploring virtual oil paint. ArtRage is,in my opinion. the most realistic painting software around, and as a painter Ive tried them all. Try using the paint tube tool and squeeze out a few colors and use the palette knife to blend and youll see what I mean. The UI for this app makes it very easy to get to the tool you want quickly which is important. Its also not crammed with tons of settings and hidden gestures. Aside from a simple menu if you want to change the size of your tool its three fingers up or down. Thats it. This update brings the iPhone app up to speed with iOS7/8 but I look forward to more tools being added. Ive heard from the developers that major updates for both iOS versions are coming this year,so Im excited.

Great app!

One of the best if not best iPhone painting apps. Allows me create really great painting with ease and with a lot of pleasure! Need only a few thing from big brothers apps to be excellent: artrage scripts for recreating painting in higher resolution later on desktop wacom fineline/intuos pens support layer transform tools and maybe iCloud support

The name suits the app well

I like this app a lot,but its so glitchy and has closed the app on me mid paint too many times...Needs some work

Best art app available

Nothing else compares to this

Not worth the $ for the iPhone version.

A friend of mine told me about this app and said that he uses this on his iPad and suggested I download it. I paid the $2 for it and it sucked. I could have gotten a better one for free. He then told me it looked completely different on the iPad. So I try to transfer this app to my iPad and cant. Because the iPad version costs $5... Cool. So I paid $2 for an app Ill never use. All in all $7 for ArtRage. I like it waaaay better on the iPad. It actually gives you options. Dont waste your money on this app unless you have an iPad. Seriously.

Will ask for my money back

The directions simply do not work on the iPhone. This app should never be released

Love art rage

I love art rage on the iPad and Im sure its must be even better in the Mac or Windows, but its pretty limited on the iPhone. On the iPad it already feels cramped but after using this app, I just stick with the ipad version.

Best graphics app ever!

Liked this app so much I bought the desktop version and havent looked back at Photoshop or illustrator since.
